Ava's surgery

Ava came out of surgery great. Her belly's still pretty tiny but it was big enough for the g tube. She's sleeping right now. She fusses here and there but is pretty much still out of it. I'm sure we'll have a long night tonight once all of the meds where off. This g tube looks difficult right now but once I do it a couple of times it should be a breeze. They say when you move it around it doesn't hurt them at all but it sure looks to me like it would. They showed us what to do if it comes out, (that freaks me out a bit) and how to clean it. We're still not sure on what kind of feedings she's going to be on, kind of depends on what the doc wants. Should know more tomorrow. It may be over the pump like before or continuous (hopefully not!) or just bullis. That's where we put it into a huge syringe type thing and just tape it to wherever, and let it flow in over a half hour or so. Well I just got some cold medicine and o.j. so I'm going to try to get a little nap and hope I don't snore or choke on my own snot :)
Oh and all of the blue on her tummy and chest is not bruising so don't freak out (mom), it's just the soap they used to clean her.

I forgot a couple of pictures so Im going to add them before we leave for the hospital. That and I'm bored. I'm sick so I can't kiss all over Ava and it's driving me C R A Z Y!!! Mom here's a picture of Ava in the onsie you made her. If anyones wandering why she's not wearing ones the other two grandmas made it's because they're still to big. I also took a picture of her this am with no tape and her chubby cheeks!! She's snoozing in her swing right now. I wanted to put her in her grandmas chair thats in her room and take pics each month so everyone can see how big she's growning. When we get back I'll do that, I'm not going to have time today, anyway here's Ava's four month update. I wish I started this when she was born... oh well we'll start at 4 mths I suppose.

*likes to pull her blanket up to her face when she's sleeping, trys to suck on it

*still not eating, but lets me stick the nipple all the way in

*likes to hold on to feeding tube, i think it's like a comfort thing...

*is trying to grab toys when dangled in front of her

*holds on to rattle for about 30 seconds, depending on her mood, sometimes longer.

*sleeps threw the night

*has had 2 blowouts this month, hehe

*smiles non stop

*smiles at mommy as soon as she sees me :)

*gets excited and kicks her arms and legs

*loves the car

*loves her stroller

*loves the swing

*still loves her mobile although we dont spend a lot of time in her bed

*weighs 10 lbs 1 oz

*still has her gangster lean

*found out last night she is amazed by balloon. she watched it for about 2 hours

*stays up for over an hour now before she's ready for a nap

*last but not least, no more tube in the nose :)

O.k. so I have no idea why these pictures are spaced so far apart? i've worked on this thing for two hours now. Earlier after I got all of my pictures posted and everything wrote out, my blog posted itself with no words and spaced even further apart. Christas been having problems with hers too so i think someting must be wrong with the site. Very aggrivating! On top of that I woke up with a cold, which I'm not thrilled about. I havent been sick for over a year it was bound to happen I suppose. I'd just rather it had happend after Ava got her surgery. Now I'm scared to death she's going to get sick since I go crazy with the kisses every day. I didnt know yesterday I was getting sick and was all in her face. What if she gets sick while she's having surgery and she's on the vent forever again or something crazy. I would feel awful! Maybe I'll call and mention that to them today. A cold usually takes about a week to get so hopefully we're in the clear. Anway as most of you prob know we got some great news Friday. We went to the doc which by the way Ava weighs 10 lbs 1 oz. Gettin big!!! Her belly has finally grown big enough for a g tube! That means no more tape on her pretty little face and no more putting this tube down her nose. She's really starting to fight it!! We also saw the cardiologist. Her hearts pretty much fixed. We don't have to go back for a whole year, yipeeee! Great news! There is a small leak where the patch is but nothing they're too concerned about. I'll let everyone know how her surgery goes. We should only be there a few days this time. I also wanted to let everyone know my cousin Dylan is having surgery to have a tumor removed. It's in his face and it's a pretty complicated surgery from what I understand. It takes somewhere around 6 to 8 hours. He goes in today I believe or maybe it was a couple of days ago. Oh gosh I forget, but I think the surgerys tomorrow. Anyway if you could keep him in your prayers our family would appreciate it!!! We also got good news on Erics sister in laws baby. Everything looks good and the babys growing so they're not too worried about the cord like they were before. It's called something but I forget. I'm getting all sidetracked Matthew Macaughnays on t.v. at the moment :) I'm not going to write under all of the pictures because it'll prob mess up. We ddint get many of Aryssas party at our house but we did get some of when Christa took her out for her bday. I wrote about that in the last blog. If you look close you'll see the lady who about had a fit because the kids were playing with their balloons and realy not being all that loud... anway enjoy!
